Kris didn’t learn sneaker cleaning from YouTube. He learned it from his dad. Growing up, his pops made sure the kids kept their sneakers clean and taught them how to do it the right way. Toothbrush. Dish soap. Bathroom sink. That was the original setup. Kris has been cleaning sneakers since he was about ten years old, long before this ever looked like a business.
Fast forward to today, Kris is a healthcare recruiter by day and the CEO of Fresh Marketing Solution on the side, but sneaker culture has always been the constant. He’s always kept his own pairs fresh. He’s always been the guy who knows his materials. He’s always been the person who pays attention to the details.
The crazy part? He wasn’t planning to turn this into a sneaker spa. He sat on the idea of Nextdoor Sneakerz for three years. Then his wife told him, “You should actually do it.” That was the push. And once he started taking it seriously, it clicked.
